Grand Piano Used For Sale – Dangers That Dealers Help You Avoid

Grand piano used for sale; this can be the perfect way to buy your first piano, particularly if you are on a small budget, but are used to practising music on a grand piano. However, there are a number of dangers inherent in buying a pre-owned grand piano if you lack the appropriate experience.

When looking at grand pianos for sale, whether Yamaha, Steinway or Kawai pianos, the biggest danger comes from the way they have been treated by previous owners. It can be hard for someone without technician training in grand, baby grand or upright pianos to be able to pick up on potential issues from poor or no maintenance and lack of regular tuning. If you don’t know what you are looking for, you may miss damage caused by humidity or temperature changes and even water damage. These may not be deal breakers in terms of buying the grand piano for sale. However, they will cost you money to put right, and if the damage is too severe, you could be looking at a very large waste of money. Of course, there are pointers that even a piano novice will see. Rat and mouse dropping in pianos for sale are never a good sign. Scratch marks, external water marks, and poorly repaired legs on pianos are just some of the things that should have you running in the other direction. The easiest way to avoid these dangers is to buy through a reputable and recognised grand piano store that has at least one professional piano technician on staff.

At Little & Lampert Pianos, we have exactly that, in fact, we are both qualified piano technicians. We have fully restored and repaired every grand piano used for sale in our shop. They do not go out for sale until we are happy with the structural integrity and sound quality of the piano. To see our current inventory, visit http://www.llpianos.co.uk/.
